Sunday afternoon Lucien woke from his nap to find his table ready for Valentine’s Day! In addition to some books on the theme of love, I kept out his Hug book (a perennial favorite) and opened up the February (Valentine’s) edition of his highlights High Five magazine. Lucien loves Highlights, and reads it obsessively. He will ask me to read multiple magazines cover-to-cover in a single sitting. And then sometimes he will ask to re-read them. The child who rarely sits still for anything will sit in the chair with me for upwards of a half hour with those magazines! It was a fantastic gift idea, so thank you to Grandma and Grandpa! I also placed some Valentine-themed rubber stamps and a paper heart on the table, along with some heart matching cards from Lucien’s beloved Highlights.
This morning we ventured to our local library for story time, where we sang songs and read some Valentine-themed books. We also checked out a lot of books about Valentine’s Day. Sometimes we go overboard at the library 🙂 After we returned home, Lucien decided to work some with his stamps. There will be much more Valentine artwork to come!
